Traveler Review – Grand Cayman & The Reef Resort
Posted by admin on Mar 15, 2012 in Resorts, Traveler Review | 0 commentsThere was no need to travel far from the resort, with a small grocery store and liquor store directly across the street, a place to rent water gear on the beach, a restaurant and bikes to borrow at no charge. Venturing around the island was made easy because there happened to be a car rental company acroos the street too. We did the tour of Sting Ray City which was well worth it. The coral reef surrounds the entire island so any beach we saw we could get in and snorkel and absorb all the beautiful aquatic life.
There are some great restaurants on the island too. If you are looking for a fine dining experience, try the Italian restaurant called The Lighthouse. They are known for their seafood along with the wonderful ocean panorama. If you’re in the mood for some good ol’ Caribbean home cooking go to Vivine’s Kitchen. It’s actually some lady’s house with the garage serving as the order window. Her food is fabulously tasty and colorful. I was told the turtle soup was magical, but she was out of turtle when I ordered. I can’t recommend going to Grand Cayman enough. If you do, then stay at the Reef Resort, you won’t be left wanting.
